Winston-Salem, NC, January 23, 2007 – Members Credit Union (MCU) announces Jack V. Braswell, Jr., Karen Keller, Warren Nesbit, II, and Robert H. (Bob) Stevenson were elected by the credit union’s membership to new three-year terms on the Board of Directors at the Annual Shareholders Meeting.
President/CEO Jack V. Braswell, Jr. has served the credit union since 1979. Originally joining MCU as Treasurer, Braswell has served as President/CEO since 1991. He has served continuously on the Board of Directors for the past 27 years. Braswell has earned wide recognition for his leadership in the credit union movement, including the Northwest Chapter Career Person of the Year (1996), the Ronald J. Hutchins Credit Union Person of the Year (1997), and the North Carolina Credit Union League’s Mark of Excellence Award (2004). Braswell is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Braswell and his wife, Susan Dabbs, live in Winston-Salem.
Karen Keller is the Town Clerk of Bethania, North Carolina. Prior to serving Members Credit Union, Keller served on the Supervisory Committee of Technicraft Credit Union in Thomaston, Connecticut. She later served as President. Keller holds a Mechanical Engineering degree from Waterbury State Technical College. Keller and her husband, Frank, live in Winston-Salem.
Warren Nesbit, II is the Corporate Vice President of Human Resources for Encompass Group in McDonough, Georgia and co-owner of Table Rock Springwater Company in Burke County, North Carolina. A founding member of the Valdese Industries Credit Union, Nesbit served on that credit union’s board from 1989-1997. Nesbit joined the Board of Directors at Members Credit Union in 1998, after the two credit unions merged. Nesbit holds an Industrial Relations degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Nesbit and his wife, Sandy, live in Locust Grove, Georgia.
Robert H. (Bob) Stevenson is Members Credit Union’s founding President/CEO. Stevenson retired from Members Credit Union in 1991 after 38 years of service. A charter member of the credit Union’s Board of Directors, Stevenson has served continuously served as a Board Member since 1953. Stevenson and his wife, Betty, live in Winston-Salem.
