Who: Clinton Recreation & Parks Department, The Sampson Center and Members Credit Union (MCU).
What: MCU will donate four fully equipped computers and a printer to the Sampson Center. Volunteers from MCU will travel from Winston-Salem, NC, to deliver and set up computers.
Where: The Sampson Center, located at 808 Barden Street, Clinton, NC.
When: Tuesday, June 9, 2009, from 10:00 am until set up is complete.
Why: Members Credit Union has been dedicated to the economical and educational betterment of Clinton’s communities since the opening of their Clinton branch in October of 2005. The Sampson Center is located less than a mile away from MCU’s Clinton location. It provides a safe environment for athletics, games, and homework. Tim Boykin, Sampson Center Site Supervisor, has long envisioned a tutoring center with computers to help meet the needs of students that frequent the Sampson Center. The center will give students better access to computers and help them complete homework assignments that require computers for typing and research.
