On Friday, August 14, 2015, Members Credit Union (MCU) welcomed all pets to the Kernersville Branch for a pet portrait fundraiser with 100 % of the proceeds benefiting Red Dog Farms in Greensboro, a non-profit animal rescue network dedicated to the rehabilitation, fostering and adoption of animals of all sizes. The portrait fair raised $1,106 and included a 10 minute session with professional photographer Shelli Craig and digital downloads of the photos. A total of 10 pets attended the portrait fair.
“Red Dog Farm is a great organization to support and we wanted to provide our animal loving members with an event that offers excitement for their pets, while also helping other pets in need,” remarked Andrea Blanton, MCU PR Assistant. “Thanks to the organizations wonderful volunteers and foster families, Red Dog Farm has helped rehome more than 2,100 animals. We hope to help them continue to raise that number with our donation.”
“We were thrilled when Members Credit Union contacted us about the Sit. Stay. Smile! fundraiser event,” remarked Courtenay Vass, Assistant Director of Red Dog Farm. “We recently acquired several exotic animals so the funds will go towards food and care for them, which is a huge help.”

To help raise additional funds for Red Dog Farm, MCU employees created and sold homemade pet toys and pet supply raffle baskets to members and employees. MCU also sold ice cream to employees and snow-cones to members and employees at MCU’s Corporate Office.
