Winston-Salem, NC, March 15, 2016 - Members Credit Union (MCU) announced today that Jack V. Braswell, Jr., President and CEO, will retire in September after more than 37 years at the credit union. Braswell began his career with MCU in 1979 as Treasurer and was promoted to President and CEO in 1991. During Braswell’s tenure as President and CEO, MCU has grown from $59 million to $270 million in assets, membership has increased from 26,000 to 50,000 members, and the number of Sponsor Companies affiliated with MCU has increased from 190 to 526.
“Jack has given many years of his time to the credit union industry,” remarked Bill Tittsworth, MCU Board Chairman. “We believe he made Members Credit Union a great place to work.”
Braswell has served on MCU’s Board of Directors for 37 years and has also served on the North Carolina Credit Union League’s Board, First Carolina Corporate Credit Union’s Board, and the Northwest Chapter’s Board. In 2004, Braswell was the recipient of the Mark of Excellence Award, recognizing a career dedicated to credit union industry leadership.
MCU also announced that Bob Donley, current Executive Vice-President, will immediately assume additional responsibilities and the title of Chief Operating Officer (COO). Donley, who joined MCU in 1995, will be named President and CEO of Members Credit Union effective September 8, 2016. Regarding Donley’s promotion, Tittsworth said, “Members Credit Union will remain strong and continue to grow and provide our membership outstanding services under Bob’s leadership.”
