On the evening of October 13th, MCU’s 3rd party VISA Debit Card processor experienced a global outage causing transactions to be declined. Some of those declined transactions, however, later posted to the accounts. On Saturday, October 14th, our card processor experienced a second outage in the afternoon causing the same issue for members using their card as a debit. Our card processor has assured us that their systems have resumed regular activity and we have not had any transaction issues reported this week.
While the outage was out of Members CU’s control, our staff members worked through the weekend to reverse the transactions that were posted even though they were declined. Every unauthorized transaction was reversed and any fee that was charged to our member’s account, due to the outage, was refunded.
We are incredibly sorry the inconvenience and appreciate our members for being patient while we worked to correct accounts.
